On 9/16/07, I observed a Southern Dogface - Zerene cesonia cesonia lay an egg on Thyrsus Dalea or Scruffy Dalea - Dalea scandens.  I collected the egg for rearing, and 38 days later on 10-24-07, the butterfly emerged and was released.
