was found and collected for rearing.
Day-1 (10/10/2007 at 0745-0800hrs) caterpillars begin to eclose.
Notice how dark the eggs have become in the past 3 days.
Day-3 (10/12/2007) as caterpillars.
Day-6 (10/15/2007) as caterpillars.
Day-12 (10/21/2007) as a caterpillar. The caterpillar is 13mm long.
The remaining caterpillars have been discarded back on Straggler Daisies.
Day-14 (10/23/2007) as a (now easily recognizable, and always suspected) Bordered
Patch caterpillar. The caterpillar is 16mm long.
Day 17 (10/26/2007) as a caterpillar. The caterpillar is 19mm long.
Day-23 (11/1/2007) from eclosing, Day-2 as a chrysalis which formed
on 10/30/2007. The chrysalis is 15mm long.
Day-26 (11/4/2007) from eclosing, Day-5 as a chrysalis.
Day-26 (11/4/2007) from eclosing, Day-5 as a chrysalis.
Day-29 (11/7/2007 at 0830hrs) from eclosing, Day-8 as a chrysalis.
Day-29 (11/7/2007 at 1400hrs) from eclosing from the egg, the Bordered
Patch - Chlosyne lacinia adjutrix emerged and was released.
